Fear. It is man's most primal impulse, and in itself, his most sincere one. Every man's reaction to fear is an honest one. The pupils dilate, the heart rate increases, adrenaline courses through his veins. It is a "fight or flight" response honed through years of evolution. And man has mastered it well. Why, if he hadn't, humankind as we know it today could very well not exist. Perhaps a hungry tiger, or a veangeful snake would've killed off what we know today as the "genetic giant". But alas, it did not. Our ancestors were cunning in their simplicity. They knew fear. They knew it's face, they knew it's source, and they knew it's response. That is why man survives today. In many ways, fear has helped to ensure the survival of the species. Pure mind-gripping terror, and it's repercussions are the reason the ape's evolutionary cousin has lived to see these many great years.

And yet, what if one could overcome his darkest fear? Would he then hold true dominion over his life's destiny, would he inevitably become master of it? Could a man truly be entrusted which such power? This concept escaped the trappings of mere theory one fateful day, the day that Domatrius Carpathi, a meteor older than life itself, struck the earth. With it came true power, for it was hurled towards this planet by a hand blessed by Divinity. A hand which was soon, however, to lose this Divine touch. It is a tale that goes back as old as humanity itself, and in effect, even older. This tale goes back to the day the Creator laid hands upon this barren rock, and said "Let There Be Light!!!" Details are sketchy at best, but i've managed-through extensive research, and study of ancient Biblical texts-to learn a great deal about this mystical occurrence. Domatrius Carpathi was hurled from the hands of the Angel, Confarrius, in a fit of rage. Confarrius was the original creator of the dinosaurs, beasts he assumed would grow to even greater evolutionary advancement than the Creator's as of yet underdeveloped "Hu-Mens". It was theoretically believed that, if he could develop creatures advanced enough to worship him as the Hu-Mens would worship God, then he could become even greater than God. He could very well become a god himself!!! Confarrius' plan failed miserably, as he learned that he'd created little more than savage monstrosities, un-Godly beasts who saw no greater fulfillment than filling their bellies with food and water. So he grabbed a nearby space rock from the solar system in which he was supposedly hiding from God's wrath. Confarrius has been a key figure in another of the Angels' plot to overthrow the Creator. When that plan failed, he fled to this system to hide. Confarrius charged the space rock with his Divine energies, and hurled them at this planet, ultimately destroying his creations for all time. The resulting energy surge alerted Commander Angels to Confarrius' location, and he was apprehended. Like the rest of his breed, he was banished to the fiery pit forever.

What became of Domatrius Carpathi, Confarrius' discarded piece of space rock? All of it was destroyed upon impact. That is, all of it, except a small piece, one tiny fragment, nearly 500 lbs. in weight. In the resulting collision, this piece was thrown across the horizon, where it came to rest on a small piece of land that would one day be known as Africa, more specifically, in the Congo of Africa. This piece lay dormant for many years. In the wake of the Creator's shaping the Earth, a cave was formed over this piece. In all the years of lying, this piece of rock actually grew into a consciousness, and an awareness of it's own existence. It actually became a living, thinking being. How ironic it is, that in Confarrius' attempts to defy the Creator, his one true success would be the instrument of wiping out his one greatest failure.
